Irregular and Mass Migration
From a comprehensive perspective of co-responsibility, the RCM Irregular and Mass Migration Working Group:
- Strengthens the governance of mixed migratory flows considering the reality of the migratory dynamics of the region.
- Promotes strategies and implements actions to prevent irregular migration, combat the smuggling of migrants, human trafficking, and other crimes.
- Develops national and regional actions that provide swift and effective responses within the framework of respect for the human rights of migrants.
The Working Group on Irregular and Mass Migration is coordinated by the Unit for Migration Policy, Registry and Identity of Persons (UPMRIP, in Spanish) of the Ministry of Interior (SEGOB, in Spanish) and is composed of: the UPMRIP, the National Institute Migration (INM, in Spanish), the National Women's Institute (INMUJERES, in Spanish) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE, in Spanish).
