Border Management
To streamline border management in the region, the RCM Border Management Working Group:
Develops strategies and actions that allow migratory movements be carried out in a safe, orderly, and regular manner.
- Promotes better institutional and regional coordination.
- Strengthens capacities to identify profiles of people at risk or in vulnerable situations.
- Contributes to the strengthening of the RCM Member Countries in the implementation of mechanisms for the management of borders and migratory flows.
The Working Group on Border Management is coordinated by the National Migration Institute (INM, in Spanish) and is composed by: the INM, the Attorney General's Office (FGR, in Spanish), the Unit for Migration Policy, Registry and Identity of Persons (UPMRIP, in Spanish) of the Ministry of Interior (SEGOB, in Spanish), the National Women's Institute (INMUJERES, in Spanish) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE, in Spanish).
