Regional Conference on Migration
The Regional Conference on Migration (RCM) is a multilateral regional forum on international migration. In the RCM participate countries that face, from their diverse perspectives and experiences, prevalent situations involving the origin, transit, destination, and return of migrations. For more information, see the Q&A about RCM.
Presidency Pro-Témpore of the Regional Conference on Migration
Mexico in its role of Presidency Pro-Témpore of the Regional Conference on Migration will promote an agenda committed to the defense of the human rights of migrants, the strengthening of migration governance, the inclusion of vulnerable people, and the promotion of gender discourse in line with the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration.
In this sense, Mexico from its Presidency Pro-Témpore will address the following thematic axes:
- Regional attention to massive extraordinary flows.
- The structural factors of migration in places of origin.
- Attention to vulnerable people and traditionally excluded communities.
- The fight against trafficking and smuggling of migrants.
- Regional labor linkage by promoting the recognition of acquired skills and competencies.
- The improvement of the technological infrastructure in places destined for the international transit of people.
By virtue of the foregoing, Mexico adopts the motto ‘For a regional framework of migration governance and human rights, for a migration with inclusion!’
